We’ve had some questions lately about why we use string to create our faux fur pom poms… Or more why don’t we use snaps. We have a few reasons and I think this will help you know why we continue to stick to our original strings.
There are a few reasons as to why we don’t use snaps or other “interchangeable, or detachable” designs. I say this in quotations because our pom poms are made with string and are also interchangeable and detachable as well. (You can see this blog post about how to achieve it.)
I’ll start with my favorite reason.. What if you want to wear your hat without your pom pom? Now what, you’re stuck with the butt end of the snap on the top of your head. I personally don’t want a metal snap hanging out on my hat if I change my mind about wearing a pom pom.
My second reason.. I don’t feel like they are as secure as being tied on with a knot and a bow (again, see this blog post on how we attach our pom poms). Ain’t nobody wants a floppy pom pom.
And third, it doesn’t change that our pom poms can be interchanged, swapped, and taken off (and put back on) in the same way that a snap, clip or cord locks would.
Anyways, these are just my two cents on the snap, clip, or cord locks. I love the way the pom feels in our hats when we tie them on. I hope you enjoy them as well!
